Senior Design Engineer – Custom Architectural Lighting Solutions, Technology Solutions

Dan Schwade is a Senior Design Engineer with Acuity Brands Lighting. He has a demonstrated history of success in new product design as well as design and feasibility of custom and modified products. His experience includes tradeshow exhibit design, managing BIM content and creation, direct technical support and lighting simulation for Lighting Designers, Contractors and Agency Representatives. Dan has over 13 years of lighting experience working with architecturally focused lighting manufacturers, where he executed the design of numerous luminaire families and custom projects. Dan’s luminaire designs have garnered numerous awards, including:

• Healthcare Design’s Nightingale Gold Award – Lighting Category, 2018
• Healthcare Design’s Nightingale Silver Award – Lighting Category, 2019
• Design featured publications such as: Lumiblade Insider for OLED luminaire design and Architectural Lighting Magazine

Dan holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts with Industrial Design concentration from the University of Wisconsin – Stout. He is a member of the Illuminating Engineering Society (IESNA) and the IESNA-Building Information Modeling (BIM) Committee. Dan holds his Lighting Certification (LC) credential and is mindful of industry standards and best practices.
